This is useful for those singles who have applied for green card but are worried about getting it before being married. And there appears to be quite a number of them.
Even if it is not useful for all those married green card applicants, this is a huge thing for the singles even if they are in the long Q. This is a long term solution for a section of the IV community. Because it is not useful to married doesn't mean that it is not relevant to IV community.
I have seen people who didn't apply during July fiasco though they are eligible just because they cannot bring the spouse if they get married. Absolutely it is relevant to all those singles out there in this community.

L1A valid for 7 years so you can continue working with A.
Apply GC from B asap and switch to B as soon as labor(PERM) passes 365 days.

For PERM, first 4-6 month goes in preperation so actual Labor waiting start from the day you apply PERM so you should count this preperation time + 365 days.
You might eligible for premium I140 so you don't have to go through this 365 days waiting to extend H1B.

stock trading for yourself on your personal account is no issues... if you setup a corp and do it through that corp, then you need a secondary H1 B...

Chennai consulate would take 1 or 2 days for processing. You can send an email to them or talk to VFS and request if they can re-schedule it for earlier date.
Wen you do not have much time, you should not take any chance. Try to reschedule it in Delhi or Bombay.
Chennai consulate took 2 days in 2005.

It is the law that you file AR-11 within (I think) 10 days after moving to a new address. If you do not do say, technically they can deport you. So send the AR-11 form with proof of sending. You can also submit AR-11 form online.
You should also change the address on the USCIS site. This operation is different from AR-11 submission.

I have sent mine to TSC directly on July 24, 2007, and have received nothing; no checks are cleared, either, till today. Thanks.

I tend to agree - it must be dependent upon the availability of appointments also at ASC. I will wait till the end of this week and then give them a call.

i got an rfe too. I think its sent to both the attorney and the applicant. They said they mailed the RFE yesterday, so hopefully by early next week I should have it. I am guessing its employment verification due to me filing change-of-address. i know for sure that my ex-employer did not revoke 140.

My company didn't cancel my H1 as they wanted to be in India for a year and return to US. I am still working for the same company that got me the H1.
I also have a family - Wife (H4), Son (4yrs - H4), Daughter (2yrs - US Citizen) - should i take them with me or should i first go there, get a couple of pay stubs and then ask them to join me.

Actually the provisions in S 1932 (Sections 8001 and 8002) were dropped when the bill went to the House. The members who handled the fate of the immigration provisions in the house were Reps Conyers, Sessenbrenner and Lamars. It was argued that the Budget Reconciliation Bill (S 1932) should not include any immigration provisions as they should instead be included in future Comprehensive immigration reform. These sections which had already been passed by the Senate were dropped quietly by the 3 member panel in the final conference report. Given the rush to pass this bill among others, members of the Senate may not be aware that these provisions were dropped when they got to the house. While new legislation offers to increase the EB quotas, the provision to allow one to apply for I-485 (GC) and I-140 concurrently upon receiving Labor certification clearance even in the absence of a current visa number ( current priority date) is missing from the proposals, a key measure that would greatly alleviate the suffering of those who suffer from visa retrogression.

If black and whites are acceptable then i think you can make copies of an existing one, just make sure you copy it at your employers copier that too in the working hours, that's the Cheapest way of doing it.:D

Why even this discussion. there are many who no longer work for the sponsor even before getting the GC. What do you think happens if they find out? have you heard of anybody whose GC was affected?
