exactly , thats y i tried to make a poll and bring it under one thread , but seems i forgot to make it open poll , so cant see who is polling .. any idea how to edit the poll ? can any one of the moderators make this poll viewable .. i dont have the option to edit poll it seems .

hi there,
i'm planning to bring my in-laws to USA and they have their visitor visa appointment next week. everything is set but i'm a littled worried about demonstrating financial stability to sponsor them.
i have paystubs & employment letter but the bank letter doesn't look so good. i live on check-to-check and my current balance is around 3K. you think i should take chance and go for the interview and hope VO doesn't ask for bank letter or doesn't mind the balance?
please help. any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Can we file PERM with a photocopy of Passport that is about to expire in 3 months.
Is it advisable to get passport renewed and then file it or it doesn't matter? My lawyer has asked me to submit copy of my passport along with other document that will go with the PERM application. Just wondering if my lawyer files PERM after expiration date (mentioned in the passport copy) has passed (due to delay in paperwork etc). Or what if lawyer files before expiration date but case is reviewed by DOL/USCIS after expiration date is passed?
Off course, I will apply for a renewal of passport, but just wondering what would happen in the above scenario?

USCIS has announced that it is working on a rule to create an electronic registration system for H-1B employers subject to the annual cap. Employers would first register an application and be allocated an H-1B cap number and then would file the case. The idea is that employers would need to register to claim an H-1B cap number first and then if they are selected, they then would prepare and file the case. I am not sure if its a new rule to get an NOC from the husband, but as far as i know NOC is required only for Govt Employees. Make sure you really need one for getting a passport for an individual. If your wife is a Govt Employee then she may need one from the Govt/Office where she works.

Its ok to have permanent address on 485 application and different address on AR-11.
You can submit AR-11 for your change of address and don�t change address on 485 application.
I am saying so because I did call USCIS and confirmed this. But you better call them and ask one more time for your satisfaction

Guys, Due to all this mess up with dates I decided to file 485/EAD/AP myself and for my wife on 6/29; so filled up everything, attached copies, photos and what not and FedExed all to USICS on June 30 to hit them on 2nd July.
Now I see that by mistake I have put my SSN on my wife's 765. She has been always on H4, never had SSN.
1. What can be the consequence of this mistake?
2. Should I try to pull it back from USICS and submit again (if it's at all possible)

systems analyst --- Various unanticipated client sites in Illinois,Texas and elsewhere
Duties - analyze design develop test integrate and implement software applications databases and systems using Oracle and oracle Applications,C.
My new role is Sr Operations System Analyst -- place CA
Role will be assistinginstall design test implement and integrate systems/applications with oracle and Oracle applications.
Can I go ahead with this job? Or this will not fall under AC21.
Pls advise.

I need a clarification on EAD card usage. If your spouse whio has an independent H1B visa and whose 485 and EAD application is dependent on you, changes the work status from H1B to EAD, then does the status of the primary applicant also change to EAD automatically. Since the spouse's application was not independent filed and was a dependent on the original applicant for both 485 and EAD applications. I want make sure that the primary applicant's status ( separate independent H1B ) is not changed from H1B to EAD, just because of the spouse starting to use the EAD ( who is a dependent filer on primary applicant for both AOS and EAD ). Would appreciate your inputs.

I am on H1 B visa. I want to change my last name. If any H1 B visa holder has changed his/her name in US, please let me know the procedure and probelms encountered during the process.
My second question is - I have valid H1B visa stamp on my passport, If I change my name, do I have to go out of the country to get my visa stamp again ?
