use a lightly damp paper towel. then wipe it with a dry paper towel. thats all you need.

A paper towel can scratch the display. Use a micro-fiber or soft cotton cloth instead.

About 40 people now. They asked what model each person wants and handed out tickets. The deck of tickets was not that big but I don't know if there are more inside the store. They said black 16g wifi is sold out for now when I asked.

It's still beats the pants off anything windows...we're just used to everything working so well it's easy to critique.

That's really my point. Apple has set the bar high for itself. If I bought a Windows CE phone, I'd expect to have problems. But few Apple products in the last decade have had so many highly publicized issues as iPhone 4. Notice there isn't much press about iPhone 3GS issues or iPad issues or Mac Mini issues. Apple usually produces produces with great usability and high reliability. Maybe I've just gotten spoiled over the years....

I had an iPad (1st gen) and liked it to an extent. I "need" a computer with me at all times, and the iPad just didn't cut it for me. I gave that to my dad and got an 11" MBA with 4GB, and fell in love. I no longer have to carry the 15 MBP around with me, and the air is such a nice weight and size, and packs the same punch as it's bigger brother the pro with certain obvious limitations. I would go ahead and get a $25 USB DVD burner from newegg, and consider using USB drives or cloud storage as you mentioned. as far as iwork/office goes, if you are making these presentations and not distributing it to others, iwork would be fine. If others are giving you powerpoints and you are displaying them, you might want to get office to ensure compatibility.

couple options.

airtunes (airplay). there are a few options for all in one speakers, not really sure what's available yet, not really cheap though. (don't think any of these (http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/news/comments/ihome-debuts-more-airplay-speakers-iw2-iw3-join-iw1/) are available yet)
or you could do multiple airport expresses and plug speakers into them. would let you set up several speakers around the room and so they are all at low volume.

Just arrived and by best guess there are around 75 people so far. I am sure there is plenty and waiting here is pretty silly but nothing else goin on today so what the hell. Least I have a good chance of getting something I want rather than having to up or downgrade my choice. T-minus 4 hours.

So at one point in my code, I use mysqli_ping() to check if a connection to mysql is still alive. In C, doing this will actually reconnect the connection if it dies, but with PHP it just returns true or false, which is fine.

My problem is thus. On occasion, I get this error:

Message: mysqli_ping() [<a href='function.mysqli-ping'>function.mysqli-ping</a>]: Couldn't fetch mysqli


In an effort to prevent this, I have tried EVERYTHING I could think of to prevent the ping from being executed, to absolutely no avail:

I'm a bit disturbed that you have turned Wifi on and have joined a second network? Presumably the server is also on a wired LAN. Since this is a recent change, it sure looks suspect. Maybe there is some loop so that the system is appearing twice (although BonJour doesn't go across subnets AFAIK).

Use MacTubes (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/28608/mactubes) to play Youtube videos and use the G4 optimized MPlayer (http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=1129727) to play videos that are already on your computer.

You'll see an incredible difference.

MacTubes allows you to play Youtube videos with Quicktime, and you can also download any video. You can set MacTubes to play videos in Safari, just go to preferences>player, and choose video player under 'player type'.

And if you're not already using one of these, I would recommend TenFourFox (http://www.floodgap.com/software/tenfourfox/) or Camino (http://caminobrowser.org/) as your main browser.

Yes, this is most disapointing. I have been wanting this app on my iPad ever since I got one. This is even more glaring since you can't even access Apple's own MobileMe site from the iPad - which is another rant entirely. :mad:

What's your point? The legality of jb has already been established.

To sue someone, you have to know who they are so you can serve them. What's Apple going to do, sue comex? chpwn? Apple doesn't know who they are. Sony knew who geohot was because he's an attention whore.

But I forgot, it's much more attention grabbing and easier to get people to donate if you scare people.
